Professor Tsao Chang-Yao graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University in 1983, and then entered Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to complete internal medicine residency and thoracic medicine specialist training. Since 1988, he has served as the attending physician of thoracic medicine in the hospital. From 1991 to 1993, he worked as a thoracic fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University in the United States. After returning to Taiwan, he entered the doctoral program of the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Chang Gung Memorial University in 1994, obtained a doctorate in clinical medicine in 1999, and obtained professor qualifications from the Ministry of Education in 2002. Dr. Tsao transferred to a professor at Sun Yat-sen Medical University in 2006, and successively served as the dean of the School of Medicine, and the vice president of Sun Yat-sen Medical University, Taichung from 2010 to 2020. Professor Tsao’s research has always been related to lung cancer, tuberculosis and respiratory diseases. He has published more than 120 papers so far, all of which are editorial board journal papers, and most of them are the first or corresponding author.
